Without doubt, lemons are one of the healthiest fruits in the world because they have numerous health benefits. They can detoxify the body, however, when they’re juiced, they tend to lose a lot of their nutrients. So, a far better option is to freeze them.
This is because the peel of lemons is also beneficial, that is, it strengthens the immunity, regulates the cholesterol, prevents cancer, treats bacterial infections, and destroys parasites and worms. Lemons are also known to prevent asthma, fight off inflammation, detoxify the kidneys and liver, remove bacteria, fight off cancer, and treat depression and stress.
Lemon juice is rich in vitamin C, but studies have shown that the peel of lemons has 5 to 10 more vitamins. According to a study, lemons were able to destroy cancerous cells of lung, breast, and colon cancer. The best part about them is that they don’t affect the healthy cells, only the cancerous ones.
Marilyn Glenville, a doctor and nutritionist, stated that there are certain fruits whose peels are great immunity boosters so it is a real waste not to consume them. And, she also added that smoothies are a healthier option than juices because they often contain other parts of the fruit like the peel. However, lemon smoothies tend to taste bitterly, so a cleverer option would be to freeze them.
First, disinfect the lemons with apple cider vinegar and then rinse them with water. Leave them to dry and then put them in the freezer. The next morning, grate the whole lemon and add it to your smoothie, tea, baked goods, desserts, soups, etc.
